We're proud to announce that Tugo has been shortlisted for Best EdTech Company at the UK Business Tech Awards 2026.
When we started Tugo, we had one goal: help parents find high-quality group tuition that gets results. Being recognised as a finalist is a reminder that we're on the right track.
What the Business Tech Awards Recognise
The Business Tech Awards celebrate technology companies across the UK using innovation to solve real problems. The EdTech category focuses on platforms that are improving educational outcomes for students and families. Being shortlisted alongside established names in the sector is something we're proud to share with every tutor on our platform and every family who has trusted us with their child's education.
What Got Us Here
Tugo is the UK's first AI-powered online group tutoring platform. The shortlisting reflects what we believe makes us genuinely different: not AI as a replacement for great teaching, but AI as a tool in a great teacher's hands.
Our tutors are supported by an AI co-pilot that handles real-time feedback, work-checking and in-session analytics. That frees them to focus on what humans do best: building rapport, spotting misconceptions and keeping a group of students genuinely engaged. The result is a session that feels personal, even in a group setting, at around £14 a session.
Underpinning every lesson is the Tugo Method, built on evidence-based best practice in cognitive science — including spaced learning, retrieval practice, and interleaving. Sessions are structured around techniques that are proven to improve long-term retention, not just performance on the day.
Since launching in December 2025, we've been accepted into the Brighteye Founder Studio, partnered with five schools, and built a growing community of specialist tutors across the UK.
What's Next
Being shortlisted at this stage validates the approach we've taken: rigorous pedagogy, purposeful technology, and a relentless focus on what families actually need. You can read it on their website. The winner will be announced in July.
