Hugo Cheyne is one of Tugo's two co-founders and its Designated Safeguarding Lead. He read Economics at the University of Warwick, and has been a primary school governor with Brent Council since 2023, where he is deputy chair.
He has tutored for more than five years, and worked as a STEM learning support assistant at William Morris Sixth Form in Hammersmith. Before that he was a product manager at SeedLegals and product lead at Y42, as well as working in investment at BlackRock and Global Founders Capital.
In 2024 he founded Trailblaze, an AI tutor meant to do the job without a teacher in the room. The software worked, but students who had access to it mostly didn't use it. That is why Tugo puts a person on every call.
He writes about revision technique, exam logistics and what the evidence says about group size.
